DESCRIPTION:
------------
FREEflow Ultimate Florida is a FREE scenery addon for Microsoft Flight Simulator: ACOF which will transform the state of Florida. A complete rebuild of the scenery of the entire area from the Mississippi River delta, east to Jacksonville, and south through the Keys and Dry Tortugas National Park. Features include:

(All features are placed with the highest accuracy possible using GIS data from the USGS, the State of Florida, Minerals Management Services, and others!)

* Land class scenery which places geographic features such as wetlands, forested land, and population centers.
* Water class scenery which properly reflects the muddy inland water as well as the vibrant tropical waters of the keys.
* Completely new coasts, bays, rivers, lakes, ponds, reservoirs, marinas and Florida's extensive canal system, and even airboat trails!
* Detailed scenery depicting the unique ecology of the Everglades, southern Florida's Water Management Areas and Lake Okeechobee.
* Detailed scenery accurately placing cultivated lands (Citrus groves and Golf Courses).
* Detailed scenery which properly places urban features such as the Miami, Port of Miami, Lakeland, St. Petersburg and others.
* Offshore scenery placing several drilling platforms in the Gulf of Mexico that include fully functional helipads.
* AFCADs for the drilling platforms and many relocated and upgraded default airports.
* An optional set of major roads and highways.
* An optional set of major bridges.
* AI surface traffic including custom designed airboats and container ships.
* Fully compatible with popular commercial addons such as USARoads and FSGenesis' American Data.

REQUIREMENTS:
-------------
* Toni Hiltunen's enhanced Florida City Sceneries, several of which are included, require installation of Gerrish Grey's trees library available at: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2002scen&DLID=19575

Additionally, while not explicitly required, you'll enjoy this scenery much more with the following addons:

*  Replacement water textures:
The water class included in this package was not designed with the default water textures, thus one of these replacement texture sets should be installed for the water to look it's best:
---OceanFX 2.0 by Johan de Vries ( http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004util&DLID=34456 ) is a front end to install Ed Truthan's water effects and textures in FS2004 ( http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=root&Name=&FileName=OCEANS%3FX.ZIP&Author=&DLID=&Sort=Name&ScanMode=1&Go=Change+View ). These textures are second to none, and highly recommended.
---Several packages are derived from these textures which you might find more appealing, and include "morewatr.zip" ( http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=43631 ) by various authors compiled by Kevin Rangel or "Water Zone" textures which are slightly darker ( http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004scen&DLID=42746 )

* Enhanced water reflection effects - these are a different thing than the textures above! There are many, but the hands-down best is Vilk's Water or "vater.zip" available at FSGenesis: http://portal.fsgenesis.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=UpDownload&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=6&ttitle=Vater_(Vilk\'s_Water)

PRE-INSTALLATION:
-----------------
*If you have a previous version of this scenery installed, please remove it completely!
This archive contains a complete installation of this scenery. Some file names will have changed, so please be sure to remove all previously installed files and folders. Don't just overwrite the previous install, you may get duplicated and inaccurate data.
***Be sure not to delete the default scenery!*** If you do, it's on CD3 in MSGAME8.cab - been there.

***If you have Bob Brown's and Joe Watson's Florida Landclass v2.0 or earlier installed, please remove it - it is included and enhanced in this package.
***If you have any of Toni Hiltunen's florida city sceneries installed, please look for updated versions - updated versions of Lakeland, Miami, St. Petersburg, and Dry Tortugas addons are included in this package. Older versions that do not state they are FREEflow compatible may not work properly.
***If you have any of Dale Caruso's enhancements for the region covered, please look for updated versions - the original releases made for the default scenery are not compatible.

AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION:
-----------------------
1.) Execute the installer, being certain to install to your main flight simulator folder.

MANUAL INSTALLATION:
--------------------
1.) Execute the installer, but install it to a temporary folder (I suggest something like "temp" on your desktop).

2.) Several folders will be created in your temporary folder: "FREEflow Florida", "Default scenery for FFFL", and several named for specific cities or areas of enhanced detail.

3.) Copy all of these to your [Path to FS9]\Addon Scenery folder.

4.) Run the uninstaller to remove the temporary directory, or simply delete the folder and start menu items.

SCENERY INACTIVATION/ACTIVATION:
--------------------------------
***Both types of install require the following steps ***

1.) In order to inactivate the default scenery, several files need to be relocated. It is highly recommended that you inactivate ALL default scenery including streams.

***Use ONE of these methods to accomplish the relocation:
A.) The installer has an option to automatically move these files for you. (highly recommended)
B.) Batch files are included and can be found in the "Default scenery for FFFL" folder. If you used the automatic installer, links to the batch files are in the Start menu in the FREEflow Florida section. If you used the Manual install, just double click the appropriately named batch file.
C.) If you prefer to do it completely manually: The following files need to be MOVED to the "Default scenery for FFFL\Scenery" folder (Be careful not to COPY them - they must be moved):
Move the following from [FS9]\Scenery\NAMC\Scenery
	HL924210.bgl
	HP924210.bgl
	HL925210.bgl
	HP925210.bgl
	HL925220.bgl
	HP925220.bgl
	HL925230.bgl
	HP925230.bgl
	PK925220.bgl

Move the following from [FS9]\Scenery\NAME\Scenery
	HL926210.bgl
	HP926210.bgl
	HL926220.bgl
	HP926220.bgl
	HL926230.bgl
	HP926230.bgl
	PK926210.bgl
	PK926220.bgl
	PK926230.bgl

To optionally (recommended) inactivate default streams:
Move the following from [FS9]\Scenery\NAMC\Scenery
	ST924210.bgl
	ST925210.bgl
	ST925220.bgl
	ST925230.bgl
Move the following from [FS9]\Scenery\NAME\Scenery
	ST926210.bgl
	ST926220.bgl
	ST926230.bgl

If you chose to install FREEflow Ultimate Florida's Roads, you must also move the default roads:
Move the following from [FS9]\Scenery\NAMC\Scenery
	RD924210.bgl
	RD925210.bgl
	RD925220.bgl
	RD925230.bgl
Move the following from [FS9]\Scenery\NAME\Scenery
	RD926210.bgl
	RD926220.bgl
	RD926230.bgl

2.) Start FS9 and use the scenery library manager to add new areas for all of these folders. See the file "FFFL-SceneryLibraryHowTo.html" for more detailed instructions. Be sure a check mark is present in the "Active" box for the Florida folder and the specific area folders, but *ABSENT* for the default scenery folder. This method makes it simple to toggle between my scenery and the default scenery, simply by activating or inactivating the appropriate scenery areas.

***You must then restart FS9 to see the changes***

COMPATIBILITY:
--------------
Key West and Fort Lauderdale sceneries by JC McCormick are not fully compatible. Please search our forum for instructions on how to get them to work with FREEflow Ultimate Florida.

KNOWN ISSUES:
-------------
*You may find "hooks" or small rectangular connectors where two shorelines meet. These are required by FS to properly orient autogen, but are way oversized in this version. We have made considerable efforts to minimize these, but there are bound to be many more. We hope to address this in a future version.

CREDITS:
--------
The FREEflow Ultimate Florida Team:
Bob Brown and Joe Watson for their Florida Landclass, and invaluable hands-on and hip-deep experience!
Bob Brown is a private pilot with hundreds of hours flying over the Everglades. Uniquely, he also had a three decade career involving mapping and field botanical research in the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. The detailed everglades section of this scenery is a direct result of Bob's experience and intimate knowledge of this landscape. (Bob has also turned out to be quite an expert at image manipulation!)
Scott Gridley for applying the FREEflow method to these seven LOD5 cells.

Contributing authors:
Dexter Thomas has been more than just an excellent tester - he's also worked with Joe Watson creating the surface AI.
Toni Hiltunen for the cities of florida sceneries, and dry tortugas addons.
Don Moser who helped design our Miami and Port of Miami scenery.
M. Allen Richards for allowing us to include his AI Airboat models, including one designed specifically for this project.
The many folks at www.hovercontrol.com for their support and ideas. Keep an eye out for a detailed Gulf of Mexico offshore scenery we're working on in collaboration with them! (Yes, even more detailed!)

The Giants whose shoulders we've stood upon:
Todd Klaus for creating and freely sharing TerraScene 2.1
Jim Keir for creating and freely sharing Slartibartfast.
Luis Sa for SBuilder - much of the everglades scenery was imported from Slarti into sbuilder to achieve a great level of accuracy.
John Cillis for Landclass Assistant - the workhorse for the Florida Land Class project.
